FAQ
A short list of questions that come up — about licensing, the audio plugin warning, and what data Loopster keeps.
Lifetime license
Question: Is Loopster a subscription?
Answer: No. Loopster is a one-time purchase from the Mac App Store — buy it once, use it for life on every Mac signed in with your Apple ID.
Offline use
Question: Does Loopster need an internet connection to work?
Answer: No. Once installed, Loopster runs entirely offline — no account, no sign-in, no calls home. You can pull the network cable and every feature still works exactly the same.
Sandbox safety
Question: When I start Loopster, a dialog appears with content like “Audio Component not sandbox safe”. What happens if I choose Yes? Will it do any harm to my Mac?
Answer: No, it will not do any harm to your Mac. Loopster uses an Apple Core Audio plugin to play back audio files. The plugin ships with macOS and is used by many third-party apps and Apple's own apps. Choosing Yes simply allows Loopster to load it.
If you choose No, Loopster will not be able to play back audio files. This may change in a future version if Apple declares its own playback plugin sandbox-safe, ships a sandbox-safe replacement, or another solution becomes available for playing back audio inside the sandbox.
Privacy
Question: Does Loopster store any personal data?
Answer: No. Loopster stores only your playlists, songs, and the per-song settings you create — tempo, pitch, locators, and loops — and nothing more. It does not access or store any user-related data, and it does not send or receive any data over the internet.
